Local schools see change in culture

Kershaw County School District (KCSD) has introduced Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) into the KCSD middle schools this year after measureable success with PBIS at the elementary school level. The first quarter of the 2011-2012 school year resulted in a 15 percent decline in discipline referrals on the elementary school level. This school year, the first thirty days of school has proved that the “homegrown” PBIS system is effective.
