Morgan to recommend funding half of SRO position

In a July 27 memorandum written Thursday to the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees, Kershaw County School District Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan indicated his intent to recommend the district use $25,000 to fund an additional half of a school resource officer (SRO) position. Morgan will formally make the recommendation to the board during its meeting tonight. In the memo, Morgan refers to a July 7 letter from Kershaw County Council Chairman Julian Burns stating the county would fund use $25,000 to fund a Camden-based SRO, which would cover half of the 2017-18 school year.
