Saying it was “just time,” Camden head football coach and athletic director Jimmy Neal has decided to step down from both positions at the end of the 2016-17 academic year. Neal, who is expected to be reassigned to another position in the Kershaw County School District, is scheduled to meet with his football players and coaching staff this morning to tell them of his decision. In 19 seasons at the Bulldog helm, Neal led his alma mater to 133 victories --- second only to the school-record 177 registered by his high school coach and predecessor on the CHS sidelines, Billy Ammons --- including a 15-0 2001 campaign in which the Dogs won the AAA state title.
