Kershaw County School District Communications Director Mary Anne Byrd sent the following message to media at 4:30 p.m. today:

Due to ongoing concerns for running almost 100 bus routes with a significant number of roadways in Kershaw County still icy, no students will report for Kershaw County School District schools on Friday, Jan. 14.

Friday, Jan. 14 will be a make up Records Day for the day missed on Monday, Jan. 10, meaning KCSD employees who were supposed to work on Monday (elementary and middle school teachers, administrators and district office staff) will report at 10 a.m. High school teachers will be furloughed.

Monday, Jan. 17 is the Martin Luther King holiday for staff and students.

School district administrators will continue to monitor weather conditions and will use the school district’s automated telephone system, the school district Website at www.kershaw.k12.sc.us, KCSD Facebook page, and local media to keep the public informed.
