Reclaiming a redoubt
Historic Camden Redoubt 2
Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) students from Lugoff-Elgin High School (L-EHS) worked to reclaim a redoubt -- a temporary or supplementary fortification -- at Historic Camden Revolutionary War Park near the Kershaw-Cornwallis House on April 21. The work started the day before under the supervision of L-EHS JROTC Lt. Col. Ray McDowell and 1st Sgt. Roy Peebles. Students worked in 45-minute shifts as part of the program’s adoption of Historic Camden for a service learning project.
