Although students at Camden, Lugoff and Wateree elementary schools are beginning classes in their new classrooms today, the Kershaw County School District (KCSD) will officially dedicate the new schools on three separate dates this month. Wateree Elementary School will hold its ribbon cutting on Thursday at 6 p.m. Camden Elementary School will hold its dedication ceremony at 6 p.m. Jan. 22, while Lugoff Elementary School will have its grand opening on Jan. 24, also at 6 p.m. “This is an exciting way to start off a new year,” KCSD Superintendent Shane Robbins said. “After being approved by voters in November of 2016, we have worked diligently over the past two years to construct facilities that will provide safe, modern-day educational environments for some of our youngest learners.
