School district to hold budget meetings

Kershaw County School District employees and local residents are invited to learn more about the school district’s 2012-13 budget and provide feedback. Superintendent Frank Morgan and Chief Financial Officer Donnie Wilson will hold a series of meetings across the county to explain the budget proposal, answer questions and receive suggestions.

“Our revenue picture looks a little better this year, but not enough to add everything back in that has been cut out of our budget over the past three years,” Morgan said. “We had a great response to our budget surveys where persons gave us their input as to what should be included in this year’s budget. These meetings are an extension of that feedback process where people can now look at the proposed budget and give us their thoughts.”

Morgan said meetings are being held in the three geographic locations of the county so that citizens can attend at least one of them.

Meetings for employees will be held:

-- Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the North Central High auditorium.

-- April 10 at 3:30 p.m. in the Lugoff-Elgin High auditorium.

-- April 12 at 3:30 p.m. in the Camden High auditorium.

Meetings for community members will be held:

-- Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the North Central High auditorium.

-- April 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lugoff-Elgin High auditorium.

-- April 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Camden High auditorium.
