Some of Kershaw County’s brightest high school seniors turned up at Bethesda Presbyterian Church this week, thanking their family, friends and guidance counselors for helping them reach their goals. Upchurch & Jowers Insurance Agency Inc. held its 16th annual All-County Academic Team banquet on Monday evening, recognizing the academic achievements of 31 high school seniors at Camden, North Central and Lugoff-Elgin high schools. The idea of having an all-county academic team, said Upchurch & Jowers customer insurance service representative Vicki McLemore, was first presented to the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees in 1996.
