Tornado severely damages North Central High School
EF2 or stronger tornado rips through stadium, classrooms and destroys buses
North Central - Buses
A bus is sandwiched between two others at North Central High School (NCHS) following a tornado that damaged almost the entire school around 10:35 p.m. Saturday. Almost all of the buses -- used to transport not only high school, but North Central-area elementary and middle school students -- suffered at least some type of damage. Although not confirmed, it was thought that the tornado may have picked up at least one HVAC unit and “bombed” the buses with them. (Martin L. Cahn/C-I)
It could be 18 months before North Central High School (NCHS) students sit in classrooms they can truly call their own again. That’s the word from Kershaw County School District (KCSD) Superintendent Dr. Shane Robbins.
