Trustees look at options for creating swim teams

The Kershaw County School District (KCSD) could consider partnering with the county’s recreation department for the use of its pool to expand athletic offerings to include swim teams. KCSD Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan suggested the idea to school board members in light of reports that a proposed city of Camden-built, YMCA-run sports complex may not include an aquatics facility. The Kershaw County Board of School Trustees discussed the potential of offering swim teams and of using the county pool during a wider discussion Tuesday evening of additional instructional and operational goals.
