Trustees to take action on referenda

The Kershaw County Board of School Trustees will vote tonight on a pair of resolutions, each officially affirming the board’s intention to place a $129 million construction bond and a 1-cent sales tax to offset any necessary millage increase from the bond on the ballot for November’s general election. The resolutions would also officially send ballot language the board approved in May to the S.C. Election Commission for placement on November’s ballot. The $129 million figure is $9.8 less than the Kershaw County School District (KCSD) originally intended to spend on what is, basically, Phase 2 of its decade-old facilities equalization project.
