The city of Camden should become the new owners of 8.9 acres of the former Boylan-Haven-Mather Academy property no later than the end of May. Camden City Council -- with Mayor Jeffrey Graham recusing himself and Councilman Pat Partin absent -- voted 3-0 Tuesday morning on second and final reading of an ordinance authorizing the purchase. Despite council having already unrestricted the necessary funds to purchase the property two weeks ago, City Manager Kevin Bronson said the purchase may not go through until May because of due diligence efforts.
