Two Kershaw County School District teachers have been selected to attend a summer science institute at Roper Mountain Science Center in Greenville. Lugoff-Elgin Middle School 7th grade science teacher Brittain Melton and Doby’s Mill Elementary 3rd grade teacher Rebecca Thrall were among 100 SC teachers chosen for the program. The institute, funded by a state Education Improvement Act (EIA) grant, gives intensive training in science teaching methods and activities to public school science teachers from throughout South Carolina.
