As part of his ongoing series of updates on referenda-approved construction projects, Kershaw County School District (KCSD) Director of Operations Billy Smith will ask the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees at its meeting tonight to approve an S.C. Department of Transportation (SCDOT)-funded walking trail at North Central High School (NCHS). According to a SCDOT plan sheet, the trail would begin near the southern end of the NCHS property at Lockhart Road and move south a short distance before turning east along Keys Lane. A pedestrian ramp and/or crosswalk would be built to allow walkers from North Central Middle School to safely join the NCHS trail, which would continue east along Keys Lane until reaching the rear of the NCHS property.
