The CVS Health Foundation and National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) recently awarded the Community Medical Clinic of Kershaw County (CMCKC) a $20,000 grant in order to help combat diabetes in the community. Diabetes has reached epidemic proportions nationally, and the lower income residents of Camden have been disproportionately affected by this chronic disease, CMCKC CEO Susan Witkowski said. “We’re so thankful to receive this grant, as it is helping us expand our health coaching services and has given us the ability to provide additional equipment and medical resources for our uninsured patients with diabetes,” said Susan Witkowski, CEO, Community Medical Clinic.
