DHEC says masks, not neck gaiters effective against COVID
County numbers up and down as pandemic continues
The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) is advising the public this week that so-called “neck gaiters” are not as effect as actual face masks in protecting the public from the spread of the COVID-19 novel coronavirus. In addition, DHEC’s updated data continues to show that communities with mask requirement ordinances in place continue to see a slower rate of disease spread compared to communities without mask requirements.
