KershawHealth recently donated a number of temperature-monitoring devices to each of the three Kershaw County School District (KCSD) high school athletic departments. According to a KershawHealth press release, the devices are also known as Wet Bulb Global Temperature (WBGT) monitors, and are used to measure safety conditions for practice and competition during times of high heat and humidity. The S.C. High School League (SCHSL) recently updated its guidelines regarding the monitoring of factors contributing to heat stress.
