More than 24 people were laid off Tuesday from KershawHealth as part of a “financial improvement plan” to deal with an expected $2.246 million drop in revenue this year. The projected revenue loss represents the expected fallout from the state of South Carolina’s decision to reduce Medicaid reimbursements by a total of 11 percent. A 3 percent cut in Medicaid reimbursements was announced April 1; another 8 percent reduction will go into effect July 1.
