Patient increase cant stave off KH losses

Despite an increase not only in surgical cases but inpatient admissions, KershawHealth still suffered an $830,000 loss and $1.2 million decrease in net assets during the month of June. The news came during Thursday’s finance-focus meeting that saw the Kershaw County Board of Trustees vote to authorize its chairman to sign documents relating to President and CEO Donnie Weeks’ pending retirement. KershawHealth Vice President and COO/CFO Mike Bunch reported that in June, inpatient admissions increased 18.8 percent compared to June 2012.
