“Now, we truly are prepared to move forward together with Capella/MUSC,” KershawHealth Board of Trustees Chair Karen Eckford declared Friday morning before formally signing documents which will make Capella Healthcare of Franklin, Tenn., and MUSC Health the operators of KershawHealth for the foreseeable future. Capella and MUSC will take over hospital operations Nov. 1, not Thursday, as originally announced. That is due to the legal closing of the $35 million lease/purchase transaction now being scheduled for Oct. 30.
