Bethune Town Councilman Don Witham holds up an example of what a town electronic message sign might look like during councils meeting Thursday night. Council voted to set aside $3,000 toward what is thought to be the $20,000 cost for the sign. The town is also seeking a $10,000 foundation grant from Sunoco. - photo by Gary Phillips
Bethune Town Council would like to purchase and erect a message sign in town to inform residents and visitors of community events and news. Council discussed the idea at its March meeting Thursday. Councilman Don Witham first introduced the idea in February when he said the sign would cost approximately $20,000.
