Bethune police chief gets pay raise
Bethune Police Chief Joey Cobb shows off the leash and horse bridle presented to him during Thursdays Bethune Town Council meeting. The humorous gesture by Mayor Charles McCoy and Councilman Don Witham resulted from Cobb having to deal with a horse that got loose in town. Newly-hired Bethune Police Chief Joey Cobb received some good news at Bethune Town Council’s meeting Thursday. After a brief executive session discussion near the end of the meeting, council unanimously voted to give Cobb a $500 a year pay raise and provide him with a cell phone paid for by the town. The raise brings the part-time chief’s annual pay to $16,000.
