Business park being made out of KershawHealth properties

Tuesday, Kershaw County Council passed first reading of an ordinance which, if passed on subsequent second and third readings, will transform what is now all of KershawHealth’s properties into a joint business/industrial park with Chesterfield County. Kershaw County Administrator Vic Carpenter said the “park” would not be an industrial park in the traditional sense, but instead pave the way for KershawHealth’s transition to private ownership by Capella Healthcare, a for-profit Tennessee company. Carpenter said state law requires Kershaw County to partner with another county for the creation of such parks.
