CMP seeks property expansion
CMP Properties
An aerial view of the Carolina Motorsports Complex shows the additional lots the current owners wish to purchase (marked by white circles) in order to expand its offerings. The photograph was included in a presentation to the Kershaw County Planning Commission and is attached to today’s proposed Kershaw County Council agenda. The owners are seeking a rezoning change from MRD-1 and RD-2 (Rural Resource District) to GD (General Development District) in order to build out amenities they say they need to earn enough revenue to properly maintain the motorsports park.
Carolina Motorsports Park (CMP) is looking to expand, based on a request for rezoning of three parcels adjoining the existing property off Kershaw Highway totaling approximately 53 acres. The currently wooded lots would be rezoned from MRD-1 and RD-2 (Rural Resource District) to GD (General Development District).
