Kershaw County Council unanimously approved second reading of an ordinance at its March 22 meeting which would require organizations to obtain a permit before soliciting funds from motorists. Councilman Jimmy Jones, who proposed the ordinance during a previous council meeting, asked county staff and County Attorney Ken DuBose to further develop the ordinance’s language in order to protect certain organizations. Jones also said he wanted council to be able to see a sample of proposed permit with third and final reading of the ordinance on April 12.
