County approves bid for industrial park road project

The Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center held a reception to bid a fond farewell to Executive Director Liz Horton, who is leaving the chamber for a new position with the Greenville, S.C. Chamber. Horton has served as the Kershaw County Chambers executive director since 2008. Kershaw County Council approved bids for two projects, the Steeplechase Industrial Boulevard Roadway Extension and the Musco Light System Installation for Doby Soccer Field. The votes for both bids were 6-0; Councilman C. Ray Miles was absent from the meeting and did not vote. Council approved the $729,237.00 bid from Kershaw Builders for the Steeplechase Industrial Boulevard Roadway Extension, the lowest of four bids received with the highest being $941,902.84 from C. Ray Miles Construction.
