The S.C. Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is providing public notification of proposed priority bridge replacement projects on I-20. Pending consideration of public comments, the projects will be recommended for inclusion in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and subsequently programmed for design and construction based on available funding.
The selected bridge replacement projects include:
• Westbound Lanes over the Wateree Swamp Overflow
• Eastbound and Westbound Lanes over Wateree Swamp Overflow (1)
• Eastbound Lanes over Wateree Swamp Overflow (2)
• Eastbound and Westbound Lanes over the Wateree River.
The cost estimation of these projects is $118.24 million.

A summary of comments received during the comment period will be provided to the SCDOT Commission for consideration.
Also SCDOT has awarded contracts to replace the bridge on Pine Grove Road over Twenty-Five Mile Creek. The project is now expected to be completed by Aug. 1. SCDOT officials originally estimated the project would be completed sometime this spring.
