Kershaw County Council seems one step closer to approving a second reading of the upcoming fiscal year’s budget as council hammered out details during two budget work sessions last week and a budget work session Tuesday. A new, unofficial budget of around $22.50 million was suggested after Tuesday’s meeting incorporating council’s goal of no tax increases. However, balancing the budget would involve transferring around $750,000 from a reserve fund.
