The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s annual Point-In-Time (PIT) homeless count will take place in Kershaw County January 24 through 28. Volunteers from the community and local nonprofit organizations will gather information to identify Kershaw County’s homeless population. Last year, 42 persons were identified through the PIT Homeless Count as living outside, on the streets, in abandoned buildings or in an emergency/transitional shelter.
