County to share GIS data
Placeholder Image
Kershaw County Council approved the distribution of county geographic information system (GIS) information with both the city of Camden and the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce during its meeting Tuesday night. Council was more hesitant to share the data with the chamber because the chamber plans to pass along the information to a mapping company, Village Profile, that will eventually see a profit by selling advertising on a county map. Village Profile will create maps for the chamber of commerce to market the county.
