Less than a month ago, Kershaw County Council approved third and final reading of an ordinance rezoning 5.18 acres of land along U.S. 1 from rural to general development in order to facilitate the proposed construction of a Family Dollar store. The parcel, which has a Cassatt address is approximately half-way between Camden and Cassatt. This afternoon, council will consider first reading of an ordinance rezoning two nearby and adjacent portions of property totaling 8.83 acres from rural to general development owned, according to documents attached to today’s agenda, by Hunter Elliot Tree Farm Inc.
