On Thursday, Sept. 7, Danny and Ron’s Rescue (DRR) received a special delivery from Houston, Texas, at the Kershaw County Airport in east Camden. A planeload of 19 rescue dogs, surrendered by their owners in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, all safely landed and were transported to Camden Veterinary Service for full check-ups, vaccinations, heartworm tests, de-worming and microchips. After hearing about the devastation in Texas and the desperate need to help misplaced animals, DRR immediately contacted local small rescues and shelters in the hardest hit areas to assist in rescue efforts.
