Drought prompts higher Lake Wateree levels

Duke Energy has decided to keep higher than normal water levels at Lake Wateree this winter as a result of ongoing drought conditions. According to Duke Energy reservoir and lake representative George Galleher, the company, which owns and manages the lake, consequently will not be lowering lake levels as it typically does each December. “This may impact those homeowners that use this time period for dock repairs and I am sorry for any inconvenience,” Galleher said.
