Evening thunderstorm causes minor mayhem

A brief but fairly intense thunderstorm blew through Kershaw County around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, leaving a number of residents without power and causing several small woods fires, according to Kershaw County Emergency Management Director Gene Faulkenberry. There was a report of a possible tornado near Stagecoach and Lovett roads, however, the National Weather Service had not confirmed that as of Monday afternoon, Faulkenberry said. “We had numerous trees down, some on houses and at least one on a car,” Faulkenberry said.
