Due to heavy rains -- and with more predicted -- Lake Wateree is flooding properties along its shores. As of 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, the lake level was at 101.4 feet, 1.4 feet above maximum. The target lake level is 97 feet. As of 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Duke Energy, which controls the Catawba-River basin ending at the Wateree Dam outside Camden, said the lake level had already crested at 102.5, but that additional rainfall could cause even high lake levels later in the week.
