Ian barely impacts county
Hurricane Ian
A NOAA satellite image of Hurricane Ian just after it made landfall near Georgetown around 2 p.m. Friday. Luckily for Kershaw County, it tracked more to the east than originally predicted, allowing most of the county to go unscathed.
The remnants of Hurricane Ian -- which is believed to have killed nearly 90 people in Florida and North Carolina, and caused widespread power outages and widespread damage -- barely had an impact on Kershaw County, according to officials here.
