Jail phone system, river property on KCC agenda

Kershaw County Council will have a variety of issues to mull during its meeting today at 5:30 p.m. Council will consider a proposal to replace the inmate telephone system at the county detention center. The county had requested proposals for installation, operation, service and maintenance of a secure web-based inmate telephone service as well kiosk and video visitation, ankle bracelet monitoring and investigative tool capabilities, including continuous voice recognition. The county will incur no expense for any costs associated with installation, operation and maintenance of the system.
