KCC delays ban on 'bath salts'
County agrees to monitor state, DEA action

Kershaw County Council decided to take a wait-and-see attitude at its meeting Tuesday and postponed a vote to establish an emergency ban on “bath salts” and synthetic marijuana. The move to delay the vote was prompted by a new statewide ban of the substances passed Monday by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). The decision by DHEC placed bath salts, a synthetic stimulant, and synthetic marijuana on a list of Schedule I drugs, which include heroin, LSD, and ecstasy.
