Kershaw County Council may have passed the 2018 budget, but discussions regarding school resource officer (SRO) funding are still ongoing. After some discussion, council officially asked County Administrator Vic Carpenter to transfer $24,000 in the 2018 budget from a line item for professional services to be used to help fund a SRO position council defunded in the 2018 budget. The issue of SRO funding has been somewhat thorny.
