KCC expresses ‘displeasure’ with SCDOT over U.S 1 work
Cut-Through (W)
A dirt-packed incline is all that remains of a cut-through on U.S. 1 in Lugoff in front of Mid Carolina Credit Union’s (MCCU) main office. The S.C. Department of Transportation (DOT) recently eliminated this and several other cut-throughs between U.S. 601 and the Wateree River. MCCU CEO Scott Conley appeared before Kershaw County Council on Tuesday to present a letter he wrote on behalf of MCCU’s to take whatever action it can in alleviating problems caused by having the cut-throughs closed off. - photo by Martin L. While there was some debate over exactly how to convey the message, Kershaw County Council unanimously passed a resolution during its meeting Tuesday “expressing its displeasure with the South Carolina Department of Transportation (DOT) road project affecting U.S. Highway One in Lugoff, South Carolina.”
