An excessive noise limitation ordinance approved on second reading by Kershaw County Council Tuesday set the specific penalty costs for each level of misdemeanor offense. According to the proposal, anyone who fails to comply with the noise ordinance could face a fine of no more than $100 for the first offense and no more than $250 and/or 30 days in jail for the second and following offenses. The ordinance was supported on a 5-1 vote with Councilman C.R. Miles voting against the measure and Council Vice Chairman Sammie Tucker Jr. absent from the meeting.
