KCC settles INVISTA tax dispute

Kershaw County Council unanimously voted Tuesday to approve a settlement agreement on a 2-year-long tax dispute between the county and INVISTA, a manufacturing plant in Lugoff. The $1.9 million agreement originated from a 2009 request by INVISTA to receive a tax refund of as much as $2.5 million from the county. The company said the county overvalued its taxes in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
