KCC still not voting on tower amendment

Kershaw County Council will discuss -- but will not vote on -- third reading of an ordinance to amend the county’s code of zoning and land regulations regarding cell towers, antennas and the definition of a fall zone at Tuesday’s meeting. At council’s Sept. 24 meeting of council, Chairman Gene Wise decided to table the amendment, an action which should have been taken by vote by the full council. At that meeting, Councilman Jimmy Jones proposed another version of the amendment that would have increased the proposed distance between towers from 1,500 feet to 2,000 feet.
