KCC to revisit EMS bid

Kershaw County Council will take another look at a bid recently awarded to a Columbia area contractor to build an EMS station in the West Wateree area. During its Jan. 10 meeting, council preliminarily awarded a bid in the amount of $654,117 to the low bidder, Bobbitt Design-Build of Columbia, for construction of the facility. The county had asked for several design changes including wider garage doors; additional site work due to the change of the location from Elgin to Mesa Lane; relocation of the garage to the other side of the building; and addition of a septic system now required at the new location.
