Kershaw County author Madge Strickland spoke to Kershaw County Council during its meeting Tuesday regarding her published book, “A Sandhills Revelation,” that tells the history of the Blaney-Elgin area in western Kershaw County. “I have been an Elgin resident for 58 years and I’m not going to tell you my age. I am a retired administrative officer from the U.S. Department of Agriculture with 35 years of federal government service, working from an office in the Strom Thurmond Federal Building in Columbia,” Strickland said.
