Lake Wateree above full pond for third time

Officials with Duke Energy forecast that Lake Wateree will be “above full pond” (100 feet) today, the third time it has made such a prediction this summer. Charlotte, N.C., and the region has experienced locally heavy rainfall, with high flows coming into Lake Wylie from the South Fork River, officials said in a press release Monday. “Duke Energy is effectively moving water downstream to create storage space for additional rainfall, and is working to manage lake levels to minimize any downstream impacts,” officials said.
