Leonard Price was the quiet giant of Kershaw County
Local philanthropist dies Sunday at 92
Leonard Price - Land Donation
The late Leonard Price (third from right) and his daughter, Kathy Stitt (far right), celebrated his 2012 donation of land to the Kershaw County School District for a proposed future elementary school with Superintendent Dr. Frank Morgan (center) and members of the Kershaw County Board of School Trustees, including (left to right) former trustee Jim Smith, board vice chair Kim DuRant, Superintendent Frank Morgan, board chair Mara Jones and former board chaplain Carol Thompson.
More than 15 years ago, Leonard Lee Price, moved to Kershaw County’s Boonetown community. From that vantage point, he would spend the next decade and a half being one of the largest philanthropists in the county as well as a friend to many, from VIPs to students in both public and private schools. Price died Sunday at the age of 92.
