According to an email and press release from the S.C. Judicial Merit Selection Commission issued Tuesday, the Honorable Dana Morris plans to retire as of the end of his current term as a Family Court judge, which expires June 30, 2019. “The Judicial Merit Selection Commission received notification today from … Morris, judge of the Family Court, 5th Judicial Circuit, Seat 3, indicating his decision to retire at the end of his term,” Erin B. Crawford, the commission’s chief counsel and staff attorney for the Senate Judiciary Committee, said. The state legislature elected Morris to the Family Court bench 10 years ago, in February 2008.
