Kershaw County Council recently approved the purchase of a new $443,701 Caterpillar (CAT) bulldozer for use at the Kershaw County landfill. Nick Anderson, director of Public Works and Danny Templar, Assistant County Administrator for KC, talked about the new machine. Anderson said he anticipates the delivery of the new bulldozer in the next three to six weeks and said that due to the specialized purpose of this equipment, it has to be ordered with an array of special features that protect critical components from being damaged by landfill debris.
