A proposed Southern Campaign of the Revolution National Heritage Area (NHA) did not meet National Park Service (NPS) criteria necessary to receive the designation, according to a draft of a suitability/feasibility study published in November. Public meetings are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert Mills Courthouse on South Broad Street to discuss the draft study. The proposed NHA is to encompass approximately two dozen counties in South Carolina, including Kershaw County, and several unspecified areas in North Carolina.
